There are some factors that can raise your risk of breast cancer.

  • Dense breast tissue, this can hide cancers on mammography.
  • Family history of breast cancer, particularly in a premenopausal woman.
  • Early onset of menses (age 9-11) and having a baby later (age 30-40)
  • Not having any children.
  • Use of hormone supplements for menopausal symptoms – this includes pharmaceuticals such as Estradiol, Premarin, Progesterone, PremPro. It also includes bio-identical compounded hormones, oral and topical.
